Haiti - Economy : Monthly inflation +1% (March 2018)

This monthly increase of + 1% is mainly the result of the behavior of consumption indices: "Food, Beverages and Tobacco" (+ 1.1%), "Clothing, Textiles and Footwear" (+ 1.3%), "Health" (+1.8 %%) and "Other goods and services" (+ 1.0%).

The upward change in the "Food, Beverages and Tobacco" index, which accounts for more than 50% of the household budget, stems, among other things, from an increase in meat prices on average (+ 1.8%) and fresh fish (+ 2.5%). ), herring on average (+ 2.1%), cod (+ 2.0%), coconut (+3.0), banana (+ 1.4%), giraume (+ 2.1%), pumpkin (+ 1.6%), eggplant (+ 1.3%), cabbages (+ 1.3%), onions (+ 1.3%), malanga (+ 1.5%), carrots (+ 1.4%) ), tomato (+ 1.2%), yam (+ 1.2%), lemon (+ 1.3%), chadec (+ 1.2%) and cocoa powder (+ 1.4%).
