Haiti - Petit-Goâve : Fed up pf residents of «Ti Guinen»

On Monday, the residents of "Ti Guinen" (Petit-Goâve), deprived of drinking water for 8 years, took to the streets to demand the National Directorate of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DINEPA) to supply "Ti Guinen" with drinking water.

After walking through the city center, the exasperated protesters waving signs and tree branches, chanting hostile remarks to the mayor and the city and against the deputy, went to the DINEPA office located on Republican Street in the around 11:30 am compelling the employees of the DINEPA and public works to leave the premises before closing the doors of these two institutions.

"We have been deprived of drinking water ro Ti Guinen for 8 years. Yet water is important, water is life [...] The lack of clean water makes children, young people and adults sick [...] Our women suffer from infection. In addition, we are confronted with the problems of latrines and roads..." declared the residents of "Ti Guinen" who announced a new demonstration next Friday to claim, once again drinking water.

Recall that the supply of "Ti Guinen" in drinking water was estimated at 2 million gourdes.
