Haiti - Diaspora : A Haitian voice shakes Quebec and social networks (video)

Sunday, April 29, in Quebec, during the semifinals of the 6th edition of the great contest "La Voix - The Voice" Yama Laurent (27 years old) Haitian native of Léogâne living in Quebec was chosen by the public and coaches for the final with 3 other competitors: Miriam Baghdassarian, Jonathan Freeman and Yann Brassard.

Once again the voice of Yama Laurent completely overthrew the hearts of the public who massively (73%) voted for her after her shocking interpretation of "A change is Gonna Come" a song about respect and acceptance of black people.

Yama received an ovation from coaches Garou, Lara Fabian, Alex Nevsky and Éric Lapointe after his performance. The crowd applauded for a long time. His coach, Garou, remained almost speechless, throwing "Yama, thank you for being here." "You're bigger than music [...] If there's a voice here, it's you," Lara Fabian said after her performance.

Moved to tears, Yama said, "Every time, it's always hopeless for me to do that, to hear you scream for me. Everytime [...]

"I say thank you to all the Haitians who support me. I receive comforting messages from everywhere. I see how much my benefits are shared online [...] All this has helped me project so far."

Rendezvous for the grand finale on Sunday, May 6th where unless an unthinkable failure of her performance Yama has all chance to win this contest and become "The Voice".

We are all proud of you Yama, Good luck and thank you
