Last Friday, in order to fulfill one of President Moïse's campaign promises, to meet the needs of the most vulnerable people through various social programs, agents of the "Kore Pèp" social assistance program of the Economic and Social Assistance Fund. Social (FAES) and representatives of the Ministry of Social Affairs (MAST) visited various departments to collect information on the situation of community restaurants.

This joint mission highlighted the difficulties faced by delegates and mayors in restaurant management and the relentless demand of residents to continue with such a program. Because, according to several "the restaurants are a relief for those who do not have great means, especially those who live in popular areas"

Various recommendations were made by interveners at the meetings. FAES and MAST will analyze the survey reports and in turn produce a final report. The community restaurants will be in operation in a short time according to the orders of the Head of State.

Across the country, 600 community restaurants [November 2017] were available to meet the needs of the poorest people who could get a hot dish for only 10 gourdes. Since then, the number of community restaurants still in operation is unknown.
