Haiti - FLASH : Emergency landing of an Avior Airlines flight
On Friday the 9V 1226 charter flight of the Venezuelan airline Avior Airlines departing at 9:00 am from Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía (in the state of Vargas, Venezuela) to Miami had to make an emergency landing at the Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince, due to problems with its fuel system.
The captain explained that there was a technical malfunction in the fuel system of the main tank and asked passengers to put themselves in an emergency position for landing. Note that this flight was delayed by Venezuela following the discovery of minor technical failures acording to passengers.
The plane landed without damage in Haiti and all the passengers who experienced a big fear, are safe and have been taken to a hotel in Haiti while waiting for a transfer to Miami.
For its part the Venezuelan airline did not comment on this incident.
