Haiti - Politic : Review of weekly activities in Parliament 16/05/2018 08:51:22 Chamber of Deputies : During this period, 2 plenary sessions were held on 8 and 9 May 2018, 3 pieces of legislation were passed and 3 bills were tabled at the meeting of May 8, 2018. Have been voted: The law recognizing and validating the acquired professional experience was adopted at second reading following the objections of President Jovenel Moïse on certain articles, by 62 of the 65 deputies present. The law establishing the national order of nurses, after debate and amendments, was adopted unanimously by the 62 deputies present. The law on the promotion of culture and assistance to Haitian artists and craftsmen was unanimously adopted by the deputies 62 deputies present. Have been deposited: Law proposal organizing the transfer of the management of irrigation systems to associations of regular irrigators tabled by the Deputy Samuel D'Haiti of the Circumscription of Saint Marc; Law proposal to combat poverty and social exclusion in communes of abundant natural resources operators filed by Deputy Roger Millien of the 1st district of Port-au-Prince; Law proposal on the adoption of a child tabled by the Deputy Joseph Antonio Vericain of the district of Gressier. Senate : The Senate held only one session (May 10) because of a quorum weakened by the repeated absence of some senators. The session of Thursday, May 10 was the 5th on the proposed law on the supervision of teachers and professors, for more than 2 hours the discussions took place only on Article 6 before the quorum was reversed. On May 8th, the Commission "Youth, Sports and Civic Action" received the Minister Régine Lamur concerning : the work of unfinished sports fields; the safety of the national championship teams and the financial support to the various sports federations and a better distribution of resources.
