Carlos Rojas-Arbulu, Head of the Canadian Cooperation in Haiti paid a courtesy call on Inspector General Jean Miguélite Maximé, Chief of Cabinet to the Director General of the Haitian National Police.

The opportunity to highlight on the one hand the partnership between Canada and the PNH during the last 9 years and on the other hand to express the satisfaction of the General Directorate in the efforts of Canada to accompany the Haitian Police in its objective of professionalization of middle executives, through the multi-year project of initial training and development of the executives of the institution.

Thanks to Canada's support, the PNH has been equipped, among other things, with a National Police Functional Academy https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-5377-haiti-security-official-inauguration-of-the-national-academy-of-police-anp.html and temporary premises with a lifespan of 20 years were erected in Port-au-Prince to meet the needs of the PNH. Moreover, in addition to the graduations of the promotions of new police candidates https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-24024-haiti-security-graduation-of-the-5th-promotion-of-police-commissaires.html , 110 commissioners (including 8 women) were graduated (4 promotions) as well as 139 inspectors (including 14 women), in addition, Canada donated many equipment and vehicles to the PNH to better equip and protect the police in the proper accomplishment of their mission.
