Haiti - Diaspora : Memorandum of Understanding on international emigration

Friday, Guy André Junior François, the Minister of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE) and Fabien Sambussy, Head of Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on International Migration and Diaspora, in order to regularize the migration issue in Haiti. This agreement will facilitate an inclusive, constructive and structured dialogue with its nationals abroad.

For Fabien Sambussy, the Haitian diaspora is an intellectual strength and an inestimable work force for the country. Having acquired technical and knowledge expertise in the host countries, the diaspora has become an essential partner for the strategic implementation of Haiti's development plan.

Minister François and his Director General Yolette Mengual have welcomed the realization of such cooperation that will allow the two parties to discuss the coordination of activities that can facilitate the integration of the diaspora in the country according to the vision of the administration Moïse-Lafontant.
