Haiti - FLASH : The NGO Oxfam GB no longer authorized in Haiti 14/06/2018 07:49:19
Wednesday Jean Marie Reynaldo Brunet, Minister of the Interior and his counterparts of Planning and External Cooperation, Aviol Fleurant, as well as Foreign Affairs Antonio Rodrigue have disclosed a joint statement putting an end to the authorization of operation of the NGO Oxfam GB in Haiti, for "for violation of Haitian law and for serious violation of the principle of the eminent dignity of the human person" following a two-month suspension https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-23636-haiti-humanitarian-oxfam-great-britain-suspended-for-2-months-in-haiti.html after the discovery that the NGO used prostitutes in Haiti. Communiqué (Withdrawal of Recognition of Development Assistance NGO Status) : "In accordance with Articles 29 and 30 of the Decree of 14 September 1989 governing the operation of NGOs, the Ministries, Planning and External Cooperation (MPCE), the Interior and Territorial Communities (MICT), Foreign Affairs and Cultes (MAEC), acting on behalf of the Haitian State, proceed to the definitive withdrawal of the status recognition of the non-governmental organization (NGO) of development assistance granted to the organization called Oxfam Great Britain (OXFAM GB), registered in the archives of the MPCE/DCAONG/SR to the No B-0253, for violation of Haitian law and for serious violation of the principle of the eminent dignity of the human person Accordingly, and in accordance with the provisions of Article 31 of the aforementioned decree, the withdrawal of the recognition entails the dissolution of this faulty NGO and the liquidation of its assets in accordance with the laws and regulations governing the matter.
