Anthony Phelps wins a prize

The Haitian poet and novelist Anthony Phelps wins the 2018 edition of the Poetry Grand Prix of the Society of French Literature People with his collection of poems "Au souffle du vent poupée". The work was published in 2017 by Bruno Doucey of Paris, in collaboration with Iris Geneviève Lahens, a Haitian painter. The winner will receive his prize on June 26, 2018, in Paris, at the Hôtel de Massa as part of a ceremony.

Equality between men and women at the heart of its mandate

On Thursday, the MINUJUSTH met Eunide Innocent; Minister for the Status of Women and Women's Rights in Haiti. In coordination with UN Women, the Mission works closely with its Ministry for the promotion of gender equality. Aligned with the government's priorities, the Mission places the fight for gender equality at the heart of its mandate. In Haiti, only four women sit on Parliament in 149 parliamentarians.

Installation of fire hydrants

The DINEPA, questioned by the frequency of fires partioculary on the capital, is preparing to acquire a hundred fire hydrants that will be installed in different parts of the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince, announced the director general of the institution, Guito Edouard, informing that a call for tenders will be launched for this purpose at the latest next week.

Draft amending budget

The draft amending budget for the current financial year and the draft budget law 2018-2019 will be tabled at the same time in Parliament on June 30. The announcement was made Thursday by Prime Minister Jack Guy Lafontant.
