Winning Schools for the Environmental Project Competition

Saturday at Hotel Villa Therese in Petion City was held the grand finale of the environmental project competition. 1st: Lycée Justin Lherisson; Guy Malary School 2nd and 3rd of Hinche College Mixte Le Phare OF Belle Anse.

Léogâne : Paving work

Paving work is underway on the 4 km road Dabòn (Leogane), to connect the city of Leogane to the rest of the surrounding areas.

In 1902, Father Pouplard, then pastor of the Cathedral of Port-au-Prince, implemented the recovery of prefabricated metal parts of the building that had briefly been the National Bank created by President Michel Domingue. He had them transported to the top of a hill overlooking the Marchand Post which is reached by a monumental staircase of three flights. A masonry construction of brick and rubble was made to receive the metal elements and on July 13, 1902 took place the solemn blessing of the chapel dedicated to Saint Anthony of Pardoue.

Environment : Symbolic gesture

The Director General of the Ministry of the Environment, Nicole Altidor, and the FAO Representative in Haiti, Nathanael Hishamunda, planted a seedling in Grande-Anse, to symbolically mark the World Day to Combat Desertification and drought in Haiti.
