Haiti - Russia 2018 : The Government confirms having paid $2,5M retransmission rights

Wednesday, at a press conference, Joseph Guyler C. Delva the Minister of Culture and Communication confirmed that under a memorandum of understanding with the Haitian media, the State has committed to pay $2,5 millions US for rights, to allow Haitian television broadcasters to broadcast all matches of the 2018 Russia World Cup.

"The government has taken the responsibility to pay the right to broadcast the World Cup. On the other hand, the media pledges to broadcast advertising spots of the Government and public institutions during break times during the course of the matches," explained Minister Delva, pointing out that the negotiations were difficult for the amount of rights of intermediaries who have been outbidding.

In addition, Minister Delvas was unable to indicate the amount and terms of purchases and the supplier (s) of large-screen flat-screen TVs, distributed by the Executive and Parliament throughout the country, indicating that he was going to inquire.
