Haiti - Barranquilla 2018 : 2 Haitian football selections at the XXIII American and Caribbean Central Games
At the XXIII Central American and Caribbean Games "Barranquilla 2018" in Colombia, 436 events divided into 47 sports, including football, will be held from July 19 to August 3, 2018. Haiti will be represented in football by two selections: the senior girls team led by Stephen Defour and the men's Olympic selection led by Jean Claude Josaphat. These two teams currently in concentration at the FIFA Goal center of Croix-des-Bouquets where they train twice a day to be at the top before their entry into these important competition.
In the women's tournament (19 to 30 July) the Haitian selection is placed in the group (B) with Mexico, Nicaragua and Trinidad. Our Grenadières will start the competition on July 20th at the "Moderno" stadium against Nicaragua before facing Mexico on 22nd and finishing the group phase Trinidad & Tobago. Only 2 of these 4 teams will advance to the semi-finals on July 27 to covet the final scheduled for July 30. Group A includes: Colombia, Costa Rica, Venezuela and Jamaica.
Moreover Jean Claude Josaphat is thoroughly in the preparation of our men's Olympic selection where our Grenadiers will start the tournament (21 to 31 July) at the Stade Romelio Martinez, with a match against El Salvador on July 21 before facing Venezuela on 23 and finally Mexico on July 25th. Group A includes: Colombia, Costa Rica, Honduras and Trinidad & Tobago.
