Haiti - Social : Fed up of Haitian students in DR against the lack of service of Haiti
On July 4, Haitian students and workers in the Dominican Republic met for a sit-in in front of the Haitian Embassy in Santo Domingo to express their fed up, denouncing the slowness of Embassy services, especially for a simple new passport (an average of 9 months after application), despite the high cost and low level of help they receive from diplomatic staff.
These students criticize the laxity of the employees of the Embassy, which they say exaggerate in time to provide them with certifications or any other types of essential documents...
Avenel Archelus, president of the Association of Haitian Students in the Dominican Republic, threatens to intensify protests if nothing is done to meet their demands, namely to provide services to Haitians in time and at normal costs.
