Haiti - FLASH : Attempted scam with fraudulent emails from UNIBANK

An email scam attempt called phishing has been detected in Haiti by the Watch Center of the Digital Observatory in Haiti (ObNH). The scam consists of sending fake emails from the UNIBANK telling customers that their account is temporarily blocked and asking to log on to the bank's website. Attention, the address sends the users on a false site reproducing the same one of the Bank, in order to collect confidential information, then to access without their knowledge, to their bank account via the authentic website.

UNIBANK NOTICE :

"July 20, 2018

Dear Customer,

UNIBANK informs you that malicious people are sending fraudulent emails to collect information that will allow them to access the accounts of our UNIBANKOnline customers online

These emails, seem to come from the following address: "unibankonline@unibankhaiti.com", and contain a link inviting you to access your account. This link leads to a page similar to the home page of our website "www.unibankhaiti.com" where you will need to enter your User Code, Password and PIN.

Do not click on this link and do not enter this access informations.

If you receive an email like this, mark it as spam and delete it.

If you clicked on the link and confirmed your personal information, please contact our customer service immediately : Phones : (509) 2942-6635 / (509) 2942-6646
