The State University of Haiti (UEH) informs the university community in particular and the general public that the UEH will host together with the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium, a laboratory of the Network of Excellence of Sciences of the Engineer of the Francophonie (RESCIF). This laboratory will focus on the valorization of water resources and the reduction of related risks.

The principle of the creation of this laboratory was retained during the 4th Meeting of Presidents, Rectors and Directors of the member institutions of the RESCIF which was held from July 17 to 20 in Lausanne (Switzerland) represented by its Rector, the Professor Fritz Deshommes and Professor Nyankona Gonomy, Director of the Department of Rural Engineering of the Faculty of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine.

Among the lines of work of this laboratory, presented by the UEH together with the University of Leuven lets quote among others :

• The characterization of flood sedimentation;

• Hydroelectric power;

• Irrigation.

Note that the UEH will also host the next Conference of RESCIF Delegates in June 2019.
