Haiti - Security : Haiti strengthens security at the border of Belladère 24/08/2018 13:15:58
According to Minister Delava, more police are present at Belladère, which contributes in addition to the security of the Haitian population, to also fight against smuggling at the border which is losing the Haitian Public Treasury millions of dollars of tax revenue. Delva also stated that a Commission had been set up to investigate these events and that the Commission is working with the Dominican authorities to see how to solve the border problems. Still according to the Minister, a binational meeting should be held in the coming days to discuss the events.
