PNH : New Motorized Brigade (North West)

Thursday morning in the North-West Department, the National Police of Haiti (PNH) launched a motorized brigade of 10 agents of the Administrative Police and the Departmental Unit of Maintenance of the Order (UDMO) equipped with 5 brand new motorcycles, which reinforces the police forces already on the spot. This brigade will have for mission to increase the road control on the main axes as well as the surveillance in the inter-communal markets.

Martissant Without Violence Project

This week at the Hotel Le Plaza in the Champ de Mars was held the Launch Ceremony of the project of security and stability entitled "Matisan san vyolans" (Martissant without violence). This project of reduction of the community violence of the organization Viva Rio Haiti, partner of the Minujusth will be realized over a period of 10 months in partnership with the National Police of Haiti (PNH). This project aims to engage community members in decision-making on security and peacebuilding and promote income generation and reintegration of at-risk youth and community members through sustainable community projectsin Grand Ravine, Ti-Bois and Village de Dieu.

Security Officers and Lower House

The Port-au-Prince Government Commissioner Me Clamé Daméus, wrote to the Secretary General Guy Gerard Georges of the Chamber of Deputies, to put at his disposal the 13 agents who were on duty the night of August 18 to 19 during incidents in Parliament. Combating Land Degradation

Excellent meeting with Martin Beaudoin Nadeau, CEO of Viridis Terra Innovations, a Canadian company specializing in ecosystem restoration to combat land degradation issues. The meeting made it possible to learn about their many areas of expertise and the KLIMA climate change project aimed at creating sustainable energy forests and implemented in collaboration with the Center for Study and International Cooperation (CECI) in the north of Haiti.

The Regional Office of the Caribbean and Latin America of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) recently launched the 6th edition of the Media Innovation Marathon Hackathon Contest, which aims to promote the creation and the development of innovative information products and services.
