Haiti - Security : Training on the UNDAC system in case of disaster 27/08/2018 10:44:15 This training will benefit the departmental technical coordinators and senior staff of the Civil Protection Directorate (CPD) at the central level, but also the technical staff of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and OCHA offices, who support the DPC, was organized by the Civil Protection, with the support of OCHA and UNDP, with the financial support of the Government of Japan. The DPC through this training in this hurricane season wished to strengthen its coordination capabilities in disaster response and risk management. It also wanted to improve the capacity of emergency operation center (COU) managers, particularly at the departmental level, in the execution of emergency operation protocols, in connection with communication, administration and training, logistics, coordination, planning and the activation and deactivation process of COU. Learn more about the UNDAC system : The UNDAC system, established in 1993, assists the United Nations in the collection, analysis and rapid distribution of information, as soon as a disaster occurs and in coordinating international relief at the national level and in the disaster area, around the world. UNDAC teams are also working to strengthen disaster response capacity at both national and regional levels.
