Haiti - Diaspora : Senator of Haitian origin Daphne Campbell, loses seat in Florida

On Tuesday, Haitian-American Daphné Campbell (61, from Cap-Haitien), Senator of District 38 (North-East of Miami-Dade), which includes the largest Haitian community in the country, lost her seat during elections held in Florida.

Campbell, who was elected eight years ago in the state legislature, lost to former Attorney Jason Pizzo, who won 54.2% of the votes.

Let's recall that Campbell was the subject of a series of investigations and ethics complaints when she introduced a bill banning surveillance cameras at traffic lights shortly after she had is the subject of 5 tickets to red lights...
