Late Friday afternoon, unidentified gunmen opened fire on Sen. Jean-Marie Solomon's vehicle at the Bicentenaire while en route to his department.

If the Senator escaped unscathed from this attack, his driver, Mackenson César, an agent of the Departmental Unit of Maintenance of the Order (UDMO) was wounded in the head and transported to the hospital Saint-François de Sales. The doctor who took charge of the senator's chauffeur indicates that the bullet touched the skull but that the vital prognosis was not engaged.

Following this attack still in shock, Salomon said "This only confirms that in Haiti there are areas of lawlessness. If a senator's vehicle is not safe, what about the population ?"

An investigation is in progress and for the moment, the reasons and the origin of this attack remain for the moment unknown.
