Saturday 1st September on the Port-de-Paix / Gonaïves road at the carrefour Tel (near Bassin Bleu), the driver of the Jean Frère bus carrying passengers Port-de-Paix / Port-au-Prince lost control of his vehicle for an unknown reason, which completely turned upside down from the side of the road.

The Blue Basin Civil Protection dispatched a team to rescue the victims, the ambulance of the Bassin Bleu hospital ensured the evacuation of the many wounded.

According to the Directorate of Civil Protection, the toll of this accident is heavy : 3 adult men died, 7 people seriously injured with multiple fractures were taken to the hospital of Bassin Bleu then later they were transferred to Port-au-Prince-de-Paix and Gonaïves and 8 other minor injuries with trauma were also treated at the hospital in Bassin Bleu.
