Haiti - Elections : Hopes of Ban Ki-moon 17/03/2011 12:09:00
At the end of a meeting with the Presidents of Central American countries, devoted to security, the Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, expressed "the hope and expectation that the second round of the presidential and parliamentary elections will be held of a manner credible, objective and democratic [...] We all want to help the reconstruction and development of Haiti. For that the country needs a stable and effective government" added the Secretary General.
The campaign ends in a tense atmosphere, with in backdrop the return "soon" of the former president of Haiti Jean-Bertrand Aristide in exile in South Africa since February 2004. The Haitian voters, will choose Sunday between Mirlande Manigat and Michel Martelly one who will lead the fate of Haiti.
