Haiti - FLASH : Earthquake in the North
The geological engineer, Claude Prépetit, Director General of the Bureau of Mines and Energy (BME) in a bulletin of the Technical Unit of Seismology of the BME informs us that a moderate earthquake of magnitude 5.2 on the Richter scale was recorded Sunday, September 23, 2018 at 1h45'50" am in Dominican Republic [in the northern and Hispanic faults].

The epicenter of the earthquake was located 57.6 km east of Fort Liberté and 95.6 km east of Cap-Haitien (19.708 degrees North, 71.290 degrees West) at a depth of 14 kilometers.

A replica of magnitude 4.4 was recorded at 2h23'09" at 10 km depth.

The two tremors were widely felt in Fort-Liberté, Cap-Haïtien and Grande Rivière du Nord.

No damage or victim has been reported in Haiti.
