Haiti - Politic : Dominican Workers' Party welcome the return of Aristide

Jose González Espinosa, President of the Dominican Workers' Party (PTD), has welcomed the return of the former haitian President Jean Bertrand Aristide in his country after seven years of forced exile in South Africa.

Jose González Espinosa declared that in Latin America, a President, a General or an official who has committed a crime in the exercise of the their functions, should not be forced to live outside of their country, but should be judged by the justice and not be exiled as was Jean Bertrand Aristide.

The President of PTD has stressed the solidarity of the South African government, which had hosted [Aristide] in decent conditions and have allowed his return to Haiti. "It's a good lesson of solidarity from one people to another and also a good opportunity to reaffirm that the citizens, have the right to live in their country and to cope with situations that may occur if they have committed errors sanctioned by law.

"I welcome his return, as the Dominican Workers' Party and as a citizen, I hope that he [Aristide] contributes to the peace, to the development, to the well-being of the Republic of Haiti to promote good neighborliness and the cooperation that should exist between our two peoples" added Espinosa.
