Haiti - Elections : The first voters cast their ballots

Officially the polling stations are open since 6:00 this morning and will close at 4:00 this afternoon. More than 4 million voters are registered and the first began on Sunday to go to the polls. They must choose between Michel Martelly 50 years, and the former first lady Mirlande Manigat, 70 years, which of the two, will hold the reins of Government for the next 5 years.

The unknown is the turnout which could be low due to the return last Friday of the former president Jean Bertrand Aristide, his supporters, and the sympathizers of his party "Fanmi Lavalas" could sulk the vote day because of the exclusion of the party from the electoral process.
