Edwing Charles, the new Minister of Youth and Sports, visibly touched by the plight of disabled Haitians, who despite their difficult living conditions, shine our color on the world stage (Haiti ranked 4th worldwide in handifoot), responded positively last week at the request of the Haitian Association of disabled athletes as part of the third participation of Haiti in the Handifoot World Cup 2018 to be held in Mexico from 24 October.

"I am following the request of the handisportives dating from August, although I arrived at the function for a week and I just instruct the General Directorate to accompany the association to the end," confirmed the Minister Charles added that the accompaniment of the Ministry to the athletes of the round ball, will consist of means of transport, equipments for the training of the 19 players (10 women and 9 men) during a month in the USA, until October 20th, physiotherapists and probably financial support of 1,500 US dollars.

"I heard your screams and I have to act," said Charles, who is expecting the world title this year, as promised by Handifoot President Hariel Valembrun. The latter, proud of our national handifoot selection, welcomed the meeting with the minister, the very first in the history of the association "This meeting with the Minister comforts us and motivates the whole team," declared Valembrun.

Eliminated in the quarter-finals by Poland during the 2nd participation of Haiti in the handifoot world cup, Haiti is the champion of the last Copa America, in the America region.
