Haiti - FLASH : The Haitian passport decline of 4 ranks in the world rankings
This ranking takes into account, among other things, the number of countries that the passport holder can visit without a visa, or with a visa issued upon his arrival in the country, and the freedom of movement on the territory visited.
Haiti, which had been ranked 85th in 2017, fell by four places to rank 89th out of 106 with a score of 52 "ex aequao" with the Comoros Islands, Equatorial Guinea and Laos. The Haitian passport ranks last in the Caribbean while the Barbados passport ranks first with access to 161 destinations. The decline in the Haitian passport is explained by the imposition of visas for Haitians by several Latin American and Caribbean countries set up to curb illegal Haitian immigration.
The Haitian passport allows access to 52 countries without a visa or with a visa issued on arrival.
Our Dominican neighbors, meanwhile, increased 5 places, from 80th in 2017 to 75th in 2018, due to the visa-free access to 10 new destinations. The Dominican passport allows access to 66 countries without a visa or with a visa issued on arrival.
