Haiti - Elections : Some polling stations will close later

In a statement, the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) "welcomes the determination of the voters who go massively in the voting centers and the calm in which is held the second round of the presidential and legislative elections

The CEP noted the delays in the start of the voting operations, especially in the voting centers of the metropolitan area where election materials were not delivered [or in sufficient quantities] due to logistical problems.

The CEP has taken appropriate measures to resolve them. Concerned to give voters the opportunity to exercise their right to vote, the Council decided that the vote in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince, will be exceptionally extended to 5:00 PM. However, if at 5:00 PM, voters still waiting in the queue, they will, after being identified by members of the polling station, allowed to vote."
