The US Embassy in collaboration with Union School, announces the opening of its Access 2019 Access Microscholarship Program

Funded by the US Department of State, this program will enable 25 underprivileged girls aged 17-21 to take intensive English and computer courses for two years.

The objective of this program is to strengthen the ability of girls to master the English language and to have an introduction to computers while deepening their knowledge of American culture. It will also enable them to be better prepared for the job market and participate in the various exchange programs and scholarships offered by the US Embassy to Haitian students.

The "Access" program included :

Learning English and computer skills;

Participation in development activities and understanding of American culture;

Transportation costs ;

English and computer books.

These courses will be given at the "Union School" located in Juvénat, Pétion-Ville. It will begin in January 2019 and will be held twice a week from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm...

Requirements :

• Be between 17 and 21 years old;

• Being economically disadvantaged;

• Strictly observe the class schedule.

Candidates must submit the following documents :

• The application form;

• A piece of identification (copy);

• The last school record (copy);

• 2 passport photos;

• 2 letters of recommendation (one from the director of the last school attended and the other from a notable from the area of residence).

Documents must be submitted by November 23, 2018 (deadline) to Union School premises by the deadline or sent by email to afterschoolprogram@unionschool.edu.ht
