Haiti - Justice : The West Director of the PNH temporarily suspended

Divisional Commissioner Berson Soljour, West Departmental Director (DDO) of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), which is the subject of an internal investigation by the General Inspectorate (IGPNH), has been temporarily suspended from its functions as a precautionary measure pending the outcome.

This investigation follows the incidents of 9 October, at the courthouse involving several lawyers, the DDO of the PNH and several police officers, the bar of Port-au-Prince accusing the Divisional Commissioner Berson Soljour of assaulting a lawyer during the hearing of a political activist.
