Haiti - Education : The Battle of Vertières invites itself in schools
As part of the commemoration of the 215th anniversary of the Battle of Vertières (November 18, 1803 - November 18, 2018) and to promote the values of citizens and respect for the tangible and intangible heritage of the Nation, Pierre Josué Agénor Cadet, the Minister of National Education invites principals, teachers and history teachers in particular, to devote moments of exchange and reflection with students, around the feats of arms of the Battle of Vertières, on the 15th and 16th of November around the theme "Vètyè, tèt ansanm pou devlopman ak estabilite".
This initiative aims to allow students of different levels to better understand the historical facts that led to the achievements of Vertières and allowed the foundation of our Nation, the first black republic in the world. This activity will also be an opportunity to revitalize civic values and respect for the symbols of the Nation by highlighting the importance of living together and unity to face the new challenges facing the country.
