Haiti - Politic : Inauguration of a training center in clothing technology

This week in the presence of Haitian and foreign officials was held the inauguration of the Training Center in Apparel Technology of Industrial Park of Caracol, a joint initiative of the Government of Haiti and that of South Korea. It's the Korean government that, through its agency Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) fully financed the construction of the building and the acquisition of equipment to the tune of $3.6 million.

Recall that in 2017, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Commerce, KOICA and the Association of Industries of Haiti (ADIH) entrusting it with the technical and operational management of the Training Center of the Park of Caracol for an initial period of 24 months. The activities of the Center are financed with the support of the Ministry of Economy and Finance from a fund of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) managed by the Technical Implementation Unit (UTE).

Note that this Center is the second of its kind to be managed by the ADIH after the launch last year of the TASC Textile Training Center at the Metropolitan Industrial Park (public-private partnership, through the Local Business Strengthening Project). and the "LEVE" Value Chain, funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) where several hundred young people have been trained https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-23467-haiti-economy-inauguration-of-a-training-center-for-the-textile-sector.html
