Haiti - Mexico : Jovenel Moïse receives the grievances of the Haitian diaspora

Saturday, December 1 at the Hyatt Hotel in Mexico City (Polanco zone), during a dinner organized at the initiative of the Ambassador of Haiti in Mexico City, Guy Lamothe, in which participated the President Jovenel Moïse and his wife Martine, representatives of the Haitian community established in Mexico among others the doctors Kely Rely and Guerda Massillon, the community agent Romain Étienne, presented their grievances to the President.

Kely Rely, for his part, is the advocate of Pilate his hometown hard hit by the earthquake of October 2018, one of the few remaining green communes in Haiti and one of the leaders in production coffee, is still waiting for an emergency intervention by the Government. He asked in a document given to President Moïse: the construction and paving of the Pilate / Plaisance / Gros-Morne road, electrification, support for farmers in the region. The Head of State has instructed his adviser, Zéphirin Ardouin for follow-up to the demands made.

In his speech the fame Dr. in physics Guerda Massillon did not fail also to sensitize President Moïse on the need to promote scientific research in Haiti and hoped that cancer research would be carried out in conjunction with the Vienna IAEA.

Romain Etienne, for his part, valued the work of young Haitians in Mexico in the field of support for immigrants and wished that the President be more attentive to leave behind some disadvantaged neighborhoods and finally underlined the support provided by the Embassy in carrying out certain Haitian community actions in Mexico City.

Frisnel Pastor Joseph of the Haitian Christian Community Church in Mexico raised the incidence of political instability in Haiti on the development of the country and finally the Catholic priest Fide Joujoute, Judge at the court of the Archdiocese of Mexico, made a vibrant plea for the reconciliation of the three powers in Haiti.
