Haïti - FLASH : RFI et l'AUF launch the 1st Edition of the Young Writing Prize

Following the Francophonie Summit in Armenia last October, the opening of a prize honoring French-speaking students was announced. Radio France International (RFI) and the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) are launching the 1st edition of the Young Writing Prize (December 3 to February 5), whose jury will be presided over by the Haitian writer Yanick Lahens, who currently holds the Chair of Francophone Worlds at the Collège de France.

All students studying at one of the AUF's establishments and anyone aged between 18 and 29 may submit a literary work of up to 15,000 characters (including spaces). This one must start with the following incipit : "Toute histoire commence un jour, quelque part" (words extracted from the book "Les exilés meurent aussi d’amour" of Abnousse Shalmani, Edited by Grasset)

If these words inspire you, then your keyboards, The works will be selected, on the one hand by the readerst and on the other by the jury composed of 5 to 6 jurors with a particular attachment to the Francophonie.

The final will take place from January 22 to February 5 during which 30 works will be chosen by the editorial team and 10 works will be chosen by votes of Internet users

Le Palmarès will be unveiled on February 5, 2019 at 17:00 will include several works selected by the editorial team and 1 work chosen by the vote of Internet users

Laureates will enjoy a Parisian experience of cultural and literary experiences. This awards ceremony will take place on March 20th as part of the Journée de la francophonie !
