Haiti - Politics : Opposition Deputies demand apologies from Senator Lambert

Following the allusion made by Senator Joseph Lambert, on December 4, during the special session in the Senate with the Superior Council of the National Police (CSPN) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-26175-haiti-news-zapping.html implicitly implying that Printemps Bélizaire (Famni Lavalas) had helped in the escape of gang leader Arnel Joseph during the police operation of November 3 at the Village de Dieu https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-26038-haiti-security-operation-village-de-dieu-relative-success-of-the-pnh.html Let's recall that at this meeting, the Senate Speaker Joseph Lambert addressing Michel-Ange Gédéon the Director General of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) had asked "Is the Deputy Printemps Bélizaire is not the one who helped Arnel escape during the PNH's interventions in village de Dieu ?"

In a correspondence dated 6 December 2018, addressed to the President of the Senate, six opposition Deputies (Joseph Manes Louis (Fanmi Lavalas), Roger Millien (Fanmi Lavalas), Jean Robert Bosse (OPL), Bertrand Sinal (Fanmi Lavalas), Reynald Exantus (OPL) and Belizaire Printemps (Fanmi Lavalas)) describe the attitude of the Senate Speaker as irresponsible and accuse him of implicit accusations, which they claim are aimed at "discrediting opposition Deputies in general and Deputy Belizaire Printemps, in particular."

The deputies demand that Senator Lambert make a public apology to Deputy Belizaire Printemps and the Chamber of Deputies. Otherwise, they threatens to prevent him from presiding over all sessions in the National Assembly...

Deputy Bélizaire, who does not rule out a defamation suit against Joseph Lambert, denies helping gang leader Arnel Joseph escape the police force. He believes that this is a political plot, because he is one of the leaders of the anti-government mobilization in the PetroCaribe file.

For his part, Senator Lambert downplayed the apology request of the 6 opposition members.
