Haiti - Religion : Pope Francis, named Mgr. Glandas Toussaint Bishop of Jacmel 09/12/2018 08:41:15 Mgr. Nugent, urges all priests, men and women religious as well as lay faithful "to welcome with a spirit of faith and hope this decision of the Holy Father, which is the expression of his paternal attention and his pastoral care to the place of the Church in Haiti and all the Haitian people." The Apostolic Nunciature invites "All the faithful as well as people of good will to pray for His Excellency Bishop Marie Erick Glandas Toussaint and for the Diocese of Jacmel, so that the Spirit of the Lord can continue to work effectively in his Church, so that by a fruitful and wise exercise of sacred ministry, our people may find in Christ an abundance of life." Learn more about Mgr. Glandas Toussaint : Born on May 19, 1965 in Grande Savane in the department of the West, Mgr. Marie Eric Glandas Toussaint was educated at the Petit Séminaire Collège Saint-Martial, before being admitted to the Grand Séminaire Notre-Dame in Cazeau, then to Turgeau. After his ordination in 1994, he began his ministry successively at the Cathedral of Port-au-Prince as vicar, then at Fonds-Baptiste as pastor of the parish of the Immaculate Conception, then at Petit-Goâve to administer the parish Our-Lady of the Assumption. In December 2007, parish priest of the Cathedral of Port-au-Prince he was appointed in February 2008, Director of the Archdiocesan Caritas.
