The number of new Haitian migrants in Chile is decreasing

Since Sebastián Piñera's Government demanded a consular tourist visa for Haitians, the arrival of illegal Haitian migrants in Chile has considerably decreased during this year. According to information from the Chilean Ministry of the Interior, the number of Haitians arriving in Chile has increased from 113,548 in 2017 to 35,773 between January and November 2018. The Ministry indicates that in January 2018 15,000 Haitians arrived while only 44 been registered last November. Delmas : Walking for Peace

On Friday, Wilson Jeudy, Mayor of Delmas Commune, visited the headquarters of the National Spiritual Council of the Churches of Haiti to discuss with the Bishops, Coordinators and some pastors of the Council, around the preparations for the march for Peace which will be organized on January 1st, 2019 in the commune.
