"Haitian people, my brothers and sisters,

We arrived at the end of 2018. A year that has been difficult for many of us because of social, economic and political problems that the country endures.

Thanks to the efforts of the Government, there has been progress in the reconstruction of roads, the production of electricity, the irrigation of land, the support of those who work in the field of agriculture among others. But we all agree that this work is not finished, we will need to make more efforts to be able to improve the way of life of each Haitian.

In order for us to meet the big challenges that lie ahead, we need the Christmas and New Year's celebrations to come together in unity and in the pride of what we are 'yon pèp diy, yon pèp ki konn travay, yon pèp ki gen anpil fyète'.

For 2019, we will have to work harder, so that there is more justice and equality in the country. We will have to work to establish peace in dialogue, respect and a lot of consideration. We must agree to organize elections without exclusions with the participation of all.

We are a people that has a determination. It is with this determination that we take the road without return to prosperity. Prosperity which means dignity for all the inhabitants of the country.

For every family in Haiti to benefit from good infrastructure such as roads, water and electricity.

So that every Haitian can move in a country that is well connected. With roads in good condition, which bring us closer to each other.

So that the weakest ones can have all the attention that they deserve, so that they listen to and respect them. That's why we are strengthening social programs.

We started with a serious reforestation process in the country. We want to leave Haiti better, to live better.

The time has come to pool our forces to move forward.

Break the chain of division and hypocrisy, to allow our motto 'Unity is strength' to take its place.

I am convinced that if we put our heart, our soul and our head together, we will be able to break down all the barriers that prevent us from taking the road of development that we all dream of.

Me and the First Lady, wish you to spend Happy Holidays filled with Peace and many blessings, together with the people you love the most 'Fanmi w ak zanmi w'.
