Haiti - NOTICE : The mayor of PAP regains control of the Champ de Mars

Ralph Youri Chevry, Mayor of Port-au-Prince informs that since Monday, January 7, the mayor has officially taken control of the area of the Champ de Mars occupied in an anarchic and illegal way, by individuals indulging in activities of all kinds, some of which tarnish space and affect public health.

Thus, the mayor has taken steps to regulate the use of the Champ de Mars and restore its recreational and tourist vocation.

Consequently, as of January 7, 2019, itinerant , merchants and occupants in general are asked to release all areas of the Champ de Mars from all types of activities likely to harm a healthy and regular use of this space.

The Town Hall also informs those concerned that parking and other permits issued by the City are now reported. It will soon publish municipal bylaws that will regulate the operation and use of the Champ de Mars.

In the meantime, it is now strictly forbidden : learning to drive motor vehicles, washing vehicles, selling food and drink, wheelbarrows, etc...

The town hall grants all concerned a period of 24 hours to comply with these provisions and informs that all necessary coercive measures will be taken accordingly.
