Growing objective failed

According to the latest report of the Haitian Institute of Statistics and Informatics (IHSI) forecasts for economic growth for the fiscal year 2017-2018 have not been reached specifying that Haiti has experienced a growth rate of 1.5%, below the expectations of 3.9%, the IHSI notes that the outlook for the current fiscal year looks difficult because of the fragility of the socio-economic situation which is likely to significantly depress the national economy.

PetroCaribe : Complainants on hunger strike

On Wednesday, a dozen plaintiffs in the PetroCaribe case went on hunger strike on the courtyard of the Port-au-Prince courthouse. The aim is to continue to demand the arrest of all those involved in the waste of Venezuelan funds.

The prosecution prefers prevention to repression

The prosecutor's office at the Court of First Instance of Port-au-Prince favors the prevention of repression in order to reduce the cases of corruption within the public administration for the year 2019.

The MUPANAH closed for work

The General Directorate of the Haitian National Pantheon Museum (MUPANAH) informs the general public that the institution will keep its doors closed on Friday 11th, Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th January 2019, due to development work. Activities will resume Monday, January 14, from 8:00 am, according to the usual schedule.

Tribute to the victims of the earthquake of January 12, 2010

Nine years ago, an earthquake devastated Haiti. In order to pay tribute to the families, friends and colleagues who lost their lives during this disaster, UNMIJUSTH is holding two commemorative ceremonies : the first in front of the United Nations Memorial (Logbase) this 11 January at 10:00 am and the second on the former site of the MINUSTAH (Hotel Christopher), the January 12 at 4:53 pm.
