Haiti - Music : D-4, 13th Edition of the International Jazz Festival of Port-au-Prince

"Music is to culture what spirituality is to the soul; it nourishes and beautifies it, thus crossing time and space," declared Jean Michel Lapin, proud to accompany the organizers of the 13th edition of the Port-au-Prince Jazz Festival "PAP JAZZ 2019", one of the largest international jazz events in the Caribbean, which runs from January 19 to 26.

PAP-JAZZ Haiti is finally an annual cultural event for musicians from around the world, which puts Haiti under the spotlights of the global village. In addition to Haiti, 16 other countries are represented (Germany, Benin, Canada, Chile, Congo, Spain, United States, France, Great Britain, Guadeloupe, Guyana, Israel, Mexico, Panama, Sweden and Switzerland), the headliners Grammy Awards, Terence Blanchard & the E-Collective, Cécile McLorin Salvant, the British Joss Stone, the French Émile Parisien, Victoire du Jazz, a duet of pianists Laurent de Wilde and Ray Lema on the stage Triumph, Barbra Lica from Canada. Spain, country of honor this year, will be represented Antonio Serrano, a renowned flamenco-jazz musician and recipient of a Flamenco Jazz Award in 2014, this fantastic harmonica player has collaborated with Paco de Lucia and is considered one of the most talented in Spain.

In total more than forty groups from around the world are scheduled, among which we note a very good participation of Haiti with local artists and the diaspora as BIC, Paul Beaubrun, Phyllisia Ross, Akoustik, Claude Carré, the young Fatima...
