Haiti - Tennis : Naomi Osaka qualifies for the 1/2 final of the Australian Open
Wednesday morning as part of the Australian Open in Melbourne, it took only 2 sets and 1h12 minutes to the Haitian-Japanese Naomi Osaka (21, ranked 4th in the world) to qualify for the 1/2 finals, winning to the Rod Laver Arena [6-4, 6-1] against the Ukrainian Elina Svitolina (24, 7th in the world), signing her twelfth straight win in Grand Slam.

Unlike the previous 2 match where Naomi had lost each time the first set, the rising star of Japanese Tennis left no chance to Svitolina. Armed with a better service (7 service games and 5 break points won), Naomi immediately took the lead and multiplied the winning points (31 against 11) but also missed many (25 unforced fouls against 11).

"I tried to be as regular as possible. I had a goal not to get upset, which I had not done very well in my last matches [...] I'm happy to be in the semi-finals [...] I worked hard to go as far as possible in tournaments [...] but I want to go even further. There are other games to win..."

Starting with her semi-final on Thursday, facing Czech Karolina Pliskova (26, 8th in the world) who in case of victory could put Naomi back in front of her idol, Serena Williams in the final.
