Boston : Haitian Consulate closed

The Consulate General of Haiti in Boston informs the Haitian community of New England that due to weather conditions, its doors were closed on Monday, March 4, 2019 by security measures. The activities will resume on Thursday, March 7, 2019, after the national holiday on the occasion of the Haitian Carnival and Ash Wednesday, with its usual schedule from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

TapTap crash on RN2

Monday, shortly before 6:00 am, a TapTap carrying passengers hit a truck before overturned on the National Road #2 in the Merger area (West Grande Saline and the East of Pointe Gressier). 2 dead (the driver and a young woman) and several injured passengers who were rushed to hospital.

Parliament unable to agree

The US supports the health system in Haiti

In 2018, the United States Government provided pregnant women with 111,360 mosquito repellents and the prevention of Zika. In addition, to date, more than 100,000 Haitians living with HIV have received free treatment with the support of PEPFAR. In addition, since 2007, 164 health facilities have provided essential primary care services to nearly 4.7 million people with funding from the US Government. Finally, in 2017, more than 72,000 Haitian children were fully immunized and 19,000 pregnant women delivered safely in these US government-funded clinics.
