Master in Hydraulic Engineering / Sanitation in Haiti :

On Thursday, the State University of Haiti (UEH), in partnership with the National Directorate of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DINEPA), launched a master's program in hydraulic engineering and sanitation. This program aims to provide DINEPA with qualified professionals able to solve problems related to the study, management and use of surface water.

Distribution of 50 tons of seeds

As part of the spring 2019 campaign in Cornillon commune, the Ministry of Agriculture has distributed 50 tonnes of quality black bean, pigeon pea, sorghum and cassava and sweet potato cuttings as well as agricultural tools. Several thousand hectares of land will be cultivated during the spring 2019 campaign.

PetroCaribe investigates at the State Lottery

This week, Margareth Fortuné, the Director General of the Haitian State Lottery (LEH), received a delegation from the Superior Court of Accounts and Administrative Litigation (CSC/CA) concerning an amount of 107 million gourdes from the PetroCaribe fund awarded the lottery in 2013. Fortuné gave instructions to the various internal departments to find all records relating to this amount in the shortest time.

Sexual abuse of UN staff

As part of United Nations efforts to prevent and eliminate cases of sexual exploitation and abuse by its staff, Minujusth and UN agencies in Haiti are organizing with the support of the Thames Cultural Association, March 22 to April 6, 2019, a theater tour in Port-au-Prince and some provincial towns. This sensitization project of the local population aims to inform them on the means of preventing cases of sexual exploitation and sexual abuse and to make them aware of the various complaints mechanisms that exist in the UN system.
