Haiti - Social : Death of the great sports journalist Jimmy Ménard

Edwing Charles, the Minister of Youth and Sports and Civic Action (MJSAC) has learned with emotion the death on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at the Fermathe hospital of the renowned sports journalist Jimmy Ménard following a Stroke Vascular Cerebral (AVC).

With the death of Jimmy Ménard, originally from Dondon (North Dept.), the sports family loses one of its worthy sons and the sports press is deprived of a seasoned professional. For a quarter of a century, Jimmy Ménard, who has offered his services to Telemax, Télé Éclair, Télé Timoun and Radio Télé Signal, has shown himself to be passionate about the profession, a servant of the sport and a partner of the Haitian sports movement in his efforts to sector development.

"The Minister Edwing Charles, bowing to the remains of this figurehead of the sports press of the 90s and the beginning of this century and salutes the professionalism of Mr. Ménard and his commitment to the development of sport in Haiti.

In these painful circumstances, the Minister extends his sincere condolences to his family, his friends and especially to the sports press which owes Jimmy Ménard a tribute to the height of his passion for sport and his vision of a sports sector at the service of of our talented young athletes."
