Friday the US Coast Guard repatriated 33 Haitians (27 men and 6 women) who had been intercepted aboard a motorboat overloaded earlier this week, about 35 miles northeast of Turtle Island and heading south to Florida.

Spencer, a Coast Guard cutter, launched a patrol boat to intercept the Haitian boat. Before reaching it, they fished 6 packets of marijuana that floated on the water about 100 meters from their target.

According to the Coast Guard release, Spencer members found three more packages of marijuana and a pack of amphetamines aboard the Haitian boat.

The Haitians were embarked aboard the Spencer and the coastguard destroyed the boat considered according to the statement as "a danger for navigation..."
