Haiti - USA : Soon dogs in the ranks of the PNH
As part of the continuous commitment of the U.S. to build the capacity of the Haitian National Police (PNH), six PNH Canine Handlers from the "Bureau de Lutte Contre le Traffic de Stupefiants" (BLTS) are currently being trained abroad in two different locations: four are training with their newly-purchased dogs in Bogota, Colombia with the Colombia National Police (CNP) for a four month period, and two are in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic with their drug dogs for a seven-week retraining period with "La Direccion Nacional de Control de Drogas" (DNCD).

Both trainings are facilitated by the U.S. Embassies in Port-au-Prince, Santo Domingo and Bogota. All six HNP canine handlers and their dogs are expected to return to Haiti in early June 2011.
