According to the meteorological agencies of the Caribbean region, the arrival of a frontal hollow, at the beginning of the week, will influence the environmental conditions favorable to the heavy precipitations which could affect most of the territory of Haiti until Wednesday 1st May 2019.

As a result, the Directorate of Civil Protection and the Permanent Secretariat for Risk Management are launching a warning of flooding and ground movements in all departments of the country.

It is recommended that people living in areas at high risk of floods, landslides and rockfalls to take the necessary measures to cope with heavy rains.

The Hydro Meteorological Unit together with the Directorate of Civil Protection closely monitor the evolution of this frontal hollow and will keep the population informed of the evolution of the situation.
