Friday, 5 police candidates of the 30th promotion, in training at the police academy on the road of Frères were arrested and put in custody following a joint investigation of the Departmental Service of Judicial Police, (SDPJ) and the Central Directorate of Judicial Police, (DCPJ), which revealed that these 5 future police officers were in fact active members of Gangs of Wharf, Tokyo and Jérémie and involved in assassinations and armed robberies...

Information confirmed by Paul Eronce Villard, the Government Commissioner at the Court of First Instance of Port-au-Prince who did not disclose their identity but who specified that this case had been transferred for legal follow-up to the cabinet of instruction that these 5 individuals will be heard for the facts alleged against them, adding that the SDPJ and the DCPJ were continuing their investigations of the other police candidates of the Promotion.
